French Lessons for Children
Ages 3 to elementary school
Serge, a teacher with his own experience raising children, teaches French to kids in a fun and engaging way. Students come from a variety of backgrounds — children from local elementary schools, Catholic private schools, and returnee families. Lessons incorporate songs, games, and picture books to help children naturally develop a feel for the French language.
Many parents have wished they had learned English earlier in life. French is the same. Language is not just an extracurricular activity — it is a lifelong tool. Sports or calligraphy can be picked up again after a break. But the rhythm and intuition of a language quietly fades each time you step away. Consistency is the only shortcut to language acquisition. We kindly ask that families approach lessons with the same commitment as school attendance.
Features
Serge has raised children of his own and understands child development, giving parents peace of mind.
Repetition-based learning helps French take root naturally.
The instructor is a native French speaker who also speaks Japanese. Lessons are conducted entirely in French, with Japanese support provided when needed.
After each lesson, Serge records the lesson content and sends it along with any necessary materials directly to parents.
Home visit lessons are available for families unable to come to the classroom. Please feel free to enquire.
Lessons for children are not scheduled after 5:00 PM. For young children, we consider this the start of evening time. Thank you for your understanding.

Reviews
"Lessons were always fun — we'd toss a ball and learn at the same time."
I started attending when I was in second grade and continued for nine years. Every piece of homework was made by Serge himself — custom-crafted just for me. I can only imagine how much time and effort that took, and I am deeply grateful. During long school holidays, he would prepare daily homework in a notebook. No other teacher has ever invested so much time and care in my learning. Lessons were always fun — we'd throw a ball, write on the whiteboard, and have conversations through card games. Serge always kept the long-term goal in mind, making sure French would stay with me for life

"My 3-year-old daughter is now immersed in Serge's French, just as I once was."
I stopped lessons when I got married, but now my 3-year-old daughter has started learning French with Serge. When I was studying in Belgium, a 92-year-old Belgian woman would speak French to me in a constant, immersive flow. Today, my daughter receives that same kind of immersion from Serge. I look forward to the day her own French blossoms.

"What Serge taught me remains the foundation of my French to this day."
My parents enrolled me at Salbot French School when I was in second grade. Every week, Serge tailored the lesson to my level and handcrafted individual assignments for each student. Before long, I found myself looking forward to every class. No other teacher has ever made me feel so warmly welcomed, almost like family. Thanks to Serge, French has always felt close to me — even after returning from France. What he taught me continues to be the foundation of my French.
